Tick Tock Cottage on the edge of Baslow village is about four miles east of Bakewell, considered to be the centre of the Peak District National Park. Here at Tick Tock Cottage you enjoy the very best of the scenery located casual walking distance to Chatsworth House and estate, gritstone crags and moorlands.

The cottage is renovated and maintained to a very high standard in a clean contemporary style - leather sofas, stainless steel kitchen units with solid oak worktops, multimedia entertainment, ALL -repeat all -Sky channels including Sky Sport, and Sky+ HD, 42" smart TV, low voltage ceiling lighting. 

Unlimited superfast fibre broadband up to 75 Mbps with both wireless and 1000/10 wired cat5 network connections to keep in touch with the world and surf, if you wish to! 

Accommodation comprises open plan ground floor with solid oak flooring through lounge, dining, kitchen and adjacent utility room, downstairs toilet and wash hand basin.

Two bedrooms carpeted luxuriously. Both with super king size beds which can be prepared as four 6'6" singles if requested. Sony Smart TV in master bedroom with Sky on ALL channels and internet for iPlayer. Additional blackout blinds in second bedroom helps children to sleep longer!

Modern bathroom with both shower cubicle and bath.  Toilets and wash basins on both floors. Gas fired central heating, utility room, cloakroom. Completely equipped including washing machine, tumble drier, freezer, fridge, dishwasher, steamer, coffee maker etc ...  Travel cot and baby high chair if needed ...

Garden with lawn and herbaceous borders line the drive. Outdoor table and chairs. gas BBQ range on stone patio.

Locked mountain bike storage in garage. Excellent local routes for mountain bikers, fell runners, and walkers right on your doorstep. Gritstone crags and limestone face routes for rock climbers both within a 10 minute drive.

Everything you may need in a Peak District holiday cottage is there ready for you to use as soon as you arrive. A welcome pack of food essentials, dishwasher and washing machine tablets are all provided with compliments. All bed linen and bathroom towels provided.  All central heating and electricity included. Absolutely no extra costs.

You will be surrounded by magnificent Peak District countryside and share it with abundant wildlife, plants and birds. Whatever your age or interests, whether walking, (many routes from the door), fishing, bird watching, cycling, horse riding, sight seeing, photography or simply enjoying peace and quiet, you will find this a perfect place to take a break.

Baslow provides the ideal Peak District central base from which to visit the many and varied attractions on offer. These include Bakewell market town and interesting shopping just 10 minutes away,  Buxton spa town and location of the internationally renowned and restored Buxton Opera House. The Hope Valley and scenic Derwent Dams are a short drive.

Close by the magnificent stately home of Chatsworth House (Britain's finest stately home - residence of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire), is only walking distance from Tick Tock Cottage through the beautiful Chatsworth parkland. Haddon Hall near Bakewell and Hardwick Hall nearChesterfield are both a short easy drive.  

Families (with children of all ages) can enjoy visits to Castleton with the Blue John Caverns and Matlock Bath with its cable cars and Gulliver's Kingdom are about 20 - 30 minutes drive.  Alton Towers is about a one hour drive.

Excellent Spar shop is 250m walk from your cottage. A Co-operative store has also opened in the village.  Bakewell is 10 minutes drive and has Aldi and Co-op supermarkets. .All major supermarkets deliver to Tick Tock Cottage from online ordering direct to your accommodation - so you could arrange a delivery to arrive when you are at your cottage. However, a welcome pack of essentials is always provided with compliments - the usual milk, bread, butter etc and biscuits or a local delicacy, Bakewell pudding (good with single cream).

Enjoy eating out.  If at the end of each day, you wish to eat out, there are many good and reasonably priced eating places and pubs within easy reach. Three local pubs are just a stagger from Tick Tock Cottage and have good menus and guest beers.

I've lived nearby for over 56 years and can provide you with local knowledge and tourist information on the Peak District as well as this superb two bedroom self catering accommodation at Tick Tock Cottage.
